In November of 2001 my husband lost his job. We had just bought our first house and I had just started back to school full time. We didn't know what we were going to do. Neither one of us had a way to pay our mortgage or any other bills. Scott started looking for something new and took odd jobs on the side to make ends meet. But it was not enough. After a few months our savings was gone and we had no way to pay the mortage payment.
I went by my sister's house one day after class. We were talking about our dire financial situation. I happen to notice that there was a piece of mail on her table with my name on it from a previous employeer. I picked it up and asked her about it. She said she had gotten several of them over that last year or so, but had thrown them away thinking they were just junk. I opened it up and it was a check for enough to cover the mortgage, all the bills and carry us through until Scott got a new job.
God knew if we had gotten the check earlier it would not be available for us when we really needed it and we would not have appreciated it. God's timing is always perfect!
